Rolex Learning Center – Hall, then Forum
Watch a parade rich in color within the hallways of the Rolex Learning Center.
More than 70 shimmering costumes will be paraded by musicians, dancers, singers and extras. The parade will take place in silence through the hallways of the Rolex Learning Center and then finish to the sound of tambourines and music in the Forum.
The Swiss artist Emmanuelle Antille‘s costumed parade performance entitled “Danses Libres” is set to occupy the whole space of the building.
Emmanuelle Antille, who has represented Switzerland at the Venice Biennale, explores in depth a theme close to her heart: the topic of the community and the links which make it up. She has thus created for the occasion a gathering of students, friends and several artists. These include fashion designer Daniela Party, make-up artist Sandrine Thomas, Musicians Nicolas Meyer, Paul Devins, William Jacquemet and Joël Musy, the “La Chanson d’Epalinges” Choir directed by Isabelle Favre Pralong as well as dancers from the “Marchepied”. This group, which is formed for this occasion, is set to spark a rethink of the relations woven between individuals over long or short periods of time. This thought process also focuses, therefore, on what feeds and what is fruitful to the links within a multicultural community like the one present at EPFL.
After the parade at the Rolex Learning Center, there will be a music and dance show in the Forum and will be accompanied by a projection.
